What you can customize in each play set.

Each playset will have an area or objects that you can customize. Here's all the ones i know so far (note that these are really short descriptions)

Pirates of the Caribbean
What you can customize: Your ship and crew.

Monsters University
What you can customize: your campus and fraternity row.

The Incredibles
What you can customize: your super hero lair

Cars
What you can customize: The buildings and where they are placed

The Lone Ranger
What you can customize: The train that moves around the world and the townspeople

EDIT: I changed some of the information in the post based off of Pizza Planet's description.

In Lone Ranger you can also customize the townspeople. In Cars you can customize the buildings of Radiator Springs and where they are placed. Also, I think the building customization in MU is just in Fraternity Row and not the main campus.

All of this stuff will be unlock able in the toy box as well, so we can make towns and stuff with the monsters u houses, make big ramps with cars, use railroads from Lone Ranger, all with a big super hero lair in the middle, and a big sea with lots of cool ships

Customizable town and aliens.

In Monsters U you can change how the students look and customise them

I'm wondering what options we have with the Pirates ships. So far we've only seen them land locked, and there has been a bit of debate about water. I don't think we will have ships in water unfortunately.

^i agree and am also worried about ships being landlocked for decoration in toybox as well. I feel like we would have seen some cool videos of ships taking on omnidroids or other baddies in the toy box and so so far we have not. That's a bit disappointing, but I'm still hoping they are waiting for the finding nemo sequel to bring water mechanics to the toy box. It is odd that pirates play set focuses so much on sailing but won't translate that to the toy box mode, seems like a missed opportunity.

I imagine if you can't customize with water in Toy Box mode you will be able to is series 2.
