Does anyone know where I can get a cheap Xbox 360 console UK

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get a cheap Xbox 360 console in the UK? Any pre-owned console shops or anything anybody knows about? Would like to buy one and get infinity on Xbox as well as wii, thanks for your help.
Also if anyone here is selling one at a reasonable price I may consider it.

You should be able to find one inbetween or around £60-£100 if you look.
Try Amazon, eBay or GAME.

If you're planning on getting a new console, I suggest foregoing the gimped Wii version. You could use the money towards getting more figures and possibly Xbox Live Gold if you plan to do online play.

I would avoid ebay for a preowned console, I've heard too many horror stories about people buying dying or banned consoles on there. If you buy from somewhere like Game or Amazon at least you have some comeback if there is a problem.
If you are after new I would keep an eye on Hotukdeals.com, there are quite often console popping up on there I think the cheapest recently has been package deals at around £150 for a new 250gb with a few older games, or £105 preowned 250gb with a couple of older games.

I have found someone selling an original (not elite) xbox 360 on gumtree for £40, it comes with 1 controller, a game and an internet adapter do you think this is a good price to pay for this? Thank you.

The price is ok but that is an old console, I would be very very wary of buying an xbox that old, the early ones were prone to the red ring of death.
Personally I would avoid, I would much rather buy from a retailer for the warranty provided.

Also I was looking at some pre-owned elite consoles o see the prices and in the description it says "xbox live banned" Does this mean I cannot get xbox live and play online?

Yes that's exactly what it means and that is one of the pitfalls of buying from eBay etc. I would seriously look at Sheriffs deal at Game, anything like a console being banned or faulty will be covered.
