Anyone getting Pokemon Rumble U?

Postby Rapunzel » Thu Aug 15, 2013 10:59 pm

Rumble U was released in the UK today and I'm considering buying it. I don't currently have a lot of games for my Wii U as I haven't bought any new games in a while (I've been saving for infinity!). I've always loved Pokemon games (aside from the fact that I have never ever finished one) and the trailer do make this look like a fun game that even I could finish.
What do other people think of this game? Are you getting it?

i had the original pokemon rumble for the wii. it as pretty cool. it gets old fast though if you're playing by yourself but it's really fun with a group. if you are primarily a single player person i would say just wait for infinity this weekend :)

No interest personally. What little I played of Pokemon Rumble Wii was extremely boring. It doesn't even come out here until the end of the month.

Rapunzel, I personally think you should save your money for Infinity.

Does Rumble U have online play? If it does I will consider it. The figures are not too much, and at GameStop in the US, you get a special figure if you buy the download code in the store.

The figures are $2 and small.
Wise choice, there are way too many Pokemon for somebody to buy every single one at a Skylander or Infinity price.

Well, this comes out in a few hours. I was hoping to bypass this one, but the draw of the little figures has my stomach tied up. I think I have a problem. I know there are worse addictions, but my house is going to be filled with little characters everywhere. I'm actually going to get this at GameStop to get a special character...while supplies last.

I'm already getting Infinity and Swap Force. From what I've seen of these games, they honestly seem like very, very basic dungeon crawlers, so I don't think I can see Rumble U as anything but a watered-down, somewhat cheaper alternative to the Skylanders games. I think I'll stick with Swap Force. Pokémon spin-offs have been disappointing me lately anyway(Gates To Infinity and Conquest were both letdowns after the excellent side-games Gen 4 had :().
I'd like to own this because the figures are cute, but the game doesn't seem exciting, and I already have plenty of better toys, so it's a no from me.
