If we're talking about purely hardware wise. Handheld is Vita(sue me, the library sucks but the hardware is brilliant), while home console is Wii U(off screen play is seriously epic). Overall favourite hardware = Wii U.
But of course software is what makes a console, so overall- console or home- mine is 3DS: it has all the titles from the DS that give me nostalgia, as well as a robust digital store, and some of the greatest titles to ever grace handhelds(Animal Crossing, Uprising, Luigi's Mansion 2... The list goes on), plus great innovations and additions like StreetPass and a gyroscope, and cool glasses free 3D. And you can carry it around in your pocket. I foresee much crying when it "dies".
Wii U has a lot of potential to achieve the same greatness for the same reasons, it already has a few great relatively ignored titles (Nintendo Land, Lego City, Pikmin 3) and it's getting more great games within the next few months. Wii remains my favourite home console, though, for having the ability to play the overlooked GameCube library as well as having some of the greatest and most nostalgic games I've ever played, and my favourite game of all time, Super Mario Galaxy 2.
DS Lite gets an honorable mention for crazy nostalgia, a fantastic library, and being able to play GBA games.
PC gets a last spot here as well for having Steam and Minecraft, and I'm saying this as someone who barely even uses their PC for games(I would love to, but sadly, that seems too frustrating to pursue here down under with everything else already being so expensive...).
