PS3 friend limit, possible glitch?

I signed onto my console and there was a pending friend request.

The console automatically rejected it when I attempted to accept, saying I'd reached some limit and to sign out of my account on any other device that may have been signed in.

What other devices?
I only have the PS3!


According to my list on my console, I have 2 confirmed and one pending.

This could be problematic if more users from this forum request to be my friend.

I half suspect the friend request is one that was cancelled, but for some reason, it still asked me to confirm it, which is probably what caused the message.


Can anyone confirm for me if there is a limit on the number of friends you can have with a PSN id?

on the ps3 there is a friend limit of 100 friends but with a ps4 or vita you can go up to 2000.

And really? PS4 can go that high? Not bad, adds more argument to PS4 for next-gen.
As for buckmana, I'd say that toops's suggestion is your best bet.

Which is why I am asking if it's some kind of glitch, because it should not say that with such a low number of friends.

Well, in that case, that is the most peculiar glitch.
What have you tried to remedy the situation?

I declined the request.

So far, I haven't seen the message again.

But since I rarely have friend requests, it might be a very long time before I can test it again.
