Chess IS complex Kyle. I used to be a serious player back in the day. I don't think DI logic elements are that complex. For a simple example: the party cannons and switch gag we've seen on video only has step on and step off- that is it... there's nothing about delays, timing, or other complexities and intangibles. So I think Disney kept this simple and easy to use, again as it is a kid's game.
I have failed to see any numeric logic as well in DI (but again, we haven't seen everything, and also given the very young market-share they're looking for). In chess, A pawn moves one square only forward, but it must attack on a diagonal, and the opening move, it has a choice of one or two squares. This doesn't even get to empowering the strength of each piece, and of course AI logic. Unless there is a toy that allows rules, complex AI and such.... there will be no workable Chess or Monopoly. I serious hope I'm wrong, but it's a toy box, not a full blown game creator, even though it can do certain things like platform, racing, etc. And yet, I can see some talented people really pushing this amazing creation to its limits- whatever that is.
