Help - Xbox 360 not working?

We played up until leaving Genesis with the droid, but the gameplay started acting slow so we decided to apply the Xbox 360 updates. After rebooting, we cannot enter in either the toy box or the game- it just does a preview thing? The base is not lit up at all, we confirmed the USB ports are working (with a fan). Any suggestions?
