How to get Light FX figures to light up off of the base

I was wanting to find a way to display my Light FX figures on my shelves and have them light up. I have taken a base apart and have learned quite a few things from doing so. I know that you can not plug the base into a usb ac adapter, it will not work. The game is required to run. I was wanting to know if any of you have figured out a way to make the base stay powered on without having the game running, such as rewiring it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can, try out a figure with any charger before you buy it.

I bought a Nordmarke from Ikea and the figures didn't light up. Really too bad because 3 could sit on it at the same time and the curved design was a perfect match.
