I'm working my way through 1.0 right now and I've already invested in all of the "normal" figures, but I was wondering if the Crystal figures are worth it. what do you guys think?

I realize they level-up faster. Does collecting them unlock anything?

It all depends on the collector. The only.difference is the in game look and they level up faster and I think they may be slightly stronger but I'm not sure.

They don't unlock anything else in game that the original figures don't. Just depends on if your a collector that wants them I suppose

I have them all, and they look very very nice, but I've literally kept them all in the box, and only scanned them in to the game to get them in my hall of heroes. Like ElmoSTM says they certainly level up quicker than the regular figure counterparts, but in terms of how the characters play (all be it the boxes stating they have 'exclusive powers') I've never really noticed the difference. I'm sure other members will be able to give you more information on their powers if indeed there are any, but as far as I'm concerned if you have to have the complete collection of figures like me, then they are of course worth it, otherwise I would probably skip.

Had I not bought one to start with I probably wouldn't have kept going with them but as others mentioned once you begin you kind of just want them all for a complete personal collection. They play like the others and honestly have not noticed leaps and bounds more power when playing them compared to their 'normal' counterparts.

I agree. Buy them if you are a collector or you don't already have the figure and can get them at a reasonable cost.

I paid a lot for my Crystals - but I am a collector.

I got a lot of them on Amazon not too long ago, NIB and basically $10-12 each, so not hard to find--currently, at least.

I love the way the crystal buzz looks in game... So yes it's worth it depending on your level of obsession

Not worth it to me... I'm just saying lol.I have all characters except the crystals.

I have a crystal Mickey and think he's harder to see in Brave and Escape. I don't see any advantage, but I don't have the other Mickey for comparison. I would rather he was glowing like my glowing Buzz for PC.
