at a midnight launch you wait for an hour or so with a bunch of like minded people in line for a game you have either already paid for or are going to buy. Usually you wait outside of a store i.e. GameStop. They open the doors at midnight and let people in in order (usually 4 or 5 at a time or so) to get what they preordered and then go about their business. Most stores only do a midnight launch if they have enough preorders to justify paying multiple employees to be at the store. I would love to see a midnight launch at my local GameStop but I honestly don't see it happening.

^GameStop no, but I can easily see Toys R Us doing a midnight launch for this game.

So I assume at a Midnight Launch, you can get all the figures, power discs, and accessories, not just the starter pack, right?

Correct, whatever is associated with the game that is being released that day.

I'm pre-ordering at TRU to get the bonus figure and discs, but I'll be picking the game up at WM at midnight and then returning the one I get from TRU to WM the next day.

That way, we'll get the game at midnight and will also get the TRU bonuses.

Spoke with a customer service rep at my local TRU and asked about the possibility of a Midnight Launch. She stated that they will instead open the doors at 8AM on the 17th; I think she was little off on the date, but she kept insisting it was the 17th and not the 18th lol.

This is usually what tru does. They open early on sunday for special releases. They did that for each of the big skylander events. I went to each one. For each one on Sunday, they opened the doors around 8 am. I would get there aroun 7 or 715 and there would be some in line. For giants release i was first in line. Even so, the line never got more than 20 or so people at my tru so im ok with that. Never had.a fear of running out. Hope infinity is the same

What actually happens at a midnight launch? well at a midnight launch you stay up at 12pm to get the game early then rather get up at like 6am to 8am to go down to your local game shop or order the game online. some midnight launch events might have activities or giveaways if they feel like it. i haven't whent to one but i see videos about it.
