@Infinite Mickey I've not used the disc version yet, not have had none of those issue with the digital download and have heard from others that it loads faster as well, might be worth checking out whilst it is on offer. I've also heard that 2012-early 2013 Wii U drives have certain issues with the laser getting stuck due to constant loading from the discs.

i hope they support 360 through 4.0 at least. I am 37 and I don't play alot of games any more other than Infinity. By the time 5.0 comes out my son should be pretty good at gaming and can get whatever Nintendo's console will be. He is 4 years old now and he plays Infinity a little. He struggles with navigating, but I have found a couple of good toy boxes where he doesn't have to navigate alot...just fight.

I hope 4.0 is on 360 at least since I might get wii u next year or an Nx the year after and I'd definitely rather get 4.0 on 360 rather then waiting a year for NX.

I first got DI 1.0 on Wii and was not pleased at how poorly the downgraded version was compared to the 360 and PS3 - e.g. single player in play sets. So that led to getting PS3 version to have full experience. When 2.0 came out and with my PS3 giving out, I upped to the PS4 version. Only problem now is I can't play the 1.0 play sets (6!!!) since PS4 isn't backward compatible. I have advocated that new DI versions include updated versions of past play sets - web content or whatever to solve such issues. Also got my son the 1.0 3DS version and 2.0 Vita versions - both discontinued. Doesn't seem to me the DI has a coherent platform strategy beyond one wave at a time. It would be nice if they closed that gap and communicated their plan to the DI fan community. For 3.0, WiiU gets lumped with 360 and PS3 since its capabilities more closely match theirs - eg Ewok village missing in Hub. I guess if players on the older consoles are happy with system compatible versions, then little harm to continue supporting them although that means retailers need shelf space for each version. Just need to be very clear on what the respective downgrades are so that players know exactly what they are and aren't getting with each version.

This whole last gen phase out really doesn't make sense to me. I mean why not support the WiiU? DI is basically a cartoon shader and a photorealistic game. I mean if we want to say only support the best systems, then they should really only support the PC. I mean my pc can actually do native 4K gaming, so why limit the selves to older systems that can't?!?

@samurai WiiU is unlikely to get dropped soon. However X360 and PS3 are a decade old a piece now. It's time.

I think they might slowly dropping old consoles, 5.0 is the loss of PS3, 7.0 is goodbye 360, 8.0 is the farewell of wii u. (Probably not that big of a jump but something like that as PS3 is the weakest)

I'd guess by the time we get to 5.0 the last gen will be dropped, kid/family games are usually the last to jump off because the target audience is mainstream and they tend to upgrade last... can't see a 8.0 on a Wii u that could be 5 to 8 years away (if they spread out the .0 to more than one year)....

As long as 6.0 and 7.0 are released on Wii U then I'm good. I need to get at least a couple years out of it before I can buy an Xbox One for 8.0. Assuming they make these games in the future and assuming Xbox One is cheaper.
