Disney Infinity Fans

This was totally unexpected (speaking for myself) but Apple just announced that Disney Infinity will be available on their new Apple TV when they release it later this year. It's gonna be really interesting to see what will be different in this version, what controls will be used and so on but I can easily see this becoming the no 1 place to play Infinity! I don't think the base will be compatible but that's not a problem for me, as long as they fix a way for you to use the power discs you already own.

What do you think?

I would expect it to work a lot like the iPad version. Link to your Disney account and use the web code cards to unlock characters.

They said there would be a console style base working on Bluetooth so I imagine they'll just scan in as usual

And is it only compatible with the new Apple TV coming out?

John Vignocchi here with a quick update on an announcement you might have heard about earlier today…

I’m happy to share that the full Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition console experience will be available on the new Apple TV later this year. The game will be available through a special Apple TV starter pack, with a similar configuration to the one offered for consoles, including the Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano figures, a new “MFi” controller, and a wireless Disney Infinity 3.0 bluetooth base! We’ll have additional details on this starter pack to share soon.

We are honored to have worked closely with Apple over the past few months to deliver a console–quality experience for this exciting new device. We can’t wait for fans — old and new — to give it a try when it releases later this year.

A wireless base? hmmm. I'd love to have one of those for my ps4.
Also this is the first time I've heard of Apple TV

Hmm... "console experience". Okay, I stand corrected.

Makes me wonder what else Apple has up their sleeves. It's like they're trying to leverage the Apple TV as gaming console.

I wonder if it will use the vita base.

If they're working with Apple I wonder if it's possible that we'll get a special iPad starter pack like the Skylanders iPad starter pack.
