Why not more official displays?

Postby Hanzo » Tue Feb 23, 2016 3:45 am

So after I saw this

I couldn't help but wonder why there aren't more of these diorama style displays for other characters. I mean, why not a Star Wars one for each iteration? Spiderman, Guardians of the Galaxy, heck even a Frozen one to hold Anna, Elsa and Olaf. I understand the development cost involved but judging by how most of us love to display our figures I can't imagine them not selling.

Also wouldn't mind them selling the above Frost Giant display separately as I imagine it would be cheaper than the $60 average I see them going for on eBay.

Thoughts?

I agree, I would definitely by more of these type of displays to show a full set of figures such as one for Mickey, Donald, Minnie, and eventually Goofy/Pluto.

Yeah, I would have zero interest in something like that, sorry to say. I have enough trouble finding room for all my figures as it is! That's the main reason I didn't bother getting the 2.0 collector's edition. I took one look at the base and went "Yeah, I have literally got nowhere to put that".

Agreed. For the space that display takes, I've got tiered shelves that hold 3 times as many figures

Heh, cool, but I don't consider those types of modifications 'simple' - particularly removing a character from its base ;-)

I'm seriously considering Kickstartering the idea I had above... gauging interest... Who would be interested in the type of modular display base idea I posited above?

/shrug. I like the collectors edition display and was hoping for something similar in 3.0.

My son and I like to rotate different characters in and out (Olaf trying to hug the Ice Giant is the best)

Yeah I loved the marvel stand but it did seem a bit off to have one and then no more ever again. That and all my figures are together except my Avengers now
